Inverting op-amp gain

Invert a 1 kHz sine wave with a resistor-set gain of minus two.

Analog

Run Transient and compare V(vin) with V(vout). The 0.5 V peak input produces an inverted 1 V peak output because −R2/R1 = −2. Change R2 to explore the gain while keeping the output inside the ±5 V supplies.

Open and run

  1. Open Examples from the Home ribbon.
  2. Choose Inverting op-amp gain.
  3. Open Simulate and choose Setup to review the analyses.
  4. Choose Run for one analysis or Run All for the complete configured set.
  5. Select a matching Scope view after the run. Use Save as sheet to keep the example or Discard to close it.
