1. Agreement and operator
OhmSpice is operated by Variant Power. By creating an account, signing in through an identity provider, or using OhmSpice after these terms are presented to you, you agree to these Terms of Service and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the hosted service.
2. OhmSpice Beta service
OhmSpice Beta is an online circuit simulator under active development. Features, limits, supported models, storage behavior, and availability may change as the service is tested and improved. Variant Power may restrict enrollment, suspend a feature, or discontinue the beta. Where practical, we will provide notice before a change that materially affects stored projects.
You are responsible for maintaining offline backups of important work. OhmSpice provides project and account export tools, but the hosted service is not an archival or disaster-recovery service.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You may not share an account in a way that defeats service limits or access controls. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by Variant Power's failure to use reasonable security measures.
You may delete your account from account settings. Export important projects and Parts first. Account deletion removes the account and its cloud design data as described in the Privacy Policy. Some de-identified security, legal-consent, and administrative audit records may remain.
4. Cloud projects and sharing
Cloud projects may be Public or Private. A Public project or public share may be opened by other people. A Private project is limited to authorized workspace members and signed-in recipients with active account-bound access; forwarding or guessing its link does not grant access. My Library content is account-scoped, but a Part or vendor model embedded in a shared project is included in the shared project snapshot.
During OhmSpice Beta, OhmSpice Beta access permits a verified account to create Private projects and private shares limited to invited accounts. If that access ends, existing Private projects remain private and may still be edited, simulated, exported, deleted, explicitly published, and shared through existing or newly created account-bound links. The account may not create another Private project, including by import, copy, or fork, or change a Public project to Private unless the required paid access is active. A change in access does not automatically publish, delete, or rewrite content.
A recipient who is authorized to open a project may save or export a copy. Unpublishing a project or revoking a link prevents future access through OhmSpice but cannot retract copies that were already downloaded or saved elsewhere.
5. Your content
You retain your rights in schematics, project files, Parts, scripts, models, notes, and other content you submit. You grant Variant Power a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, transmit, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service and to provide sharing that you request. This license ends when the content is deleted from active systems, subject to the retention and backup practices in the Privacy Policy.
You represent that you have the rights needed to upload, use, embed, and share your content. This is especially important for semiconductor models, vendor libraries, symbols, documentation, and other third-party materials. A source link or provenance record does not itself grant redistribution rights. You must comply with the applicable license and any contractual restrictions.
6. Scripts and executable project content
Simulation Scripts are trusted project code. They run only after an explicit Run action, but they are not a security boundary for untrusted projects. Review scripts before running an imported or shared project. Do not use scripts to attack the service, another user, the browser, or connected systems.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use OhmSpice to:
- break the law or infringe another person's intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or contractual rights;
- upload malware, credentials, personal data you are not authorized to process, or content intended to exploit a browser or service;
- probe, bypass, or defeat authentication, authorization, rate limits, quotas, model restrictions, or security controls;
- interfere with the service, consume resources abusively, automate account creation, or deny service to others;
- scrape or bulk-extract content except through an authorized export for content you are entitled to access; or
- misrepresent simulation output, ownership, affiliation, or authorization.
Generous anti-abuse ceilings apply to projects, revisions, My Library content, payloads, images, and email sharing. They are intended to be invisible during normal use. We may lower a limit for a specific account when necessary to stop abuse or protect service availability.
8. Simulation results and engineering responsibility
OhmSpice is an engineering tool, not a substitute for professional judgment, independent calculation, physical testing, component qualification, or safety review. Simulation results depend on the circuit, analysis settings, solver behavior, and model accuracy. Vendor compatibility does not establish that a model is accurate for your operating conditions.
Do not rely on OhmSpice as the sole basis for decisions involving personal safety, medical devices, transportation, grid protection, nuclear systems, hazardous energy, regulatory compliance, or other high-consequence applications. You are responsible for validating results and the final design.
9. OhmSpice intellectual property
OhmSpice, its proprietary source code, interface, branding, documentation, and original content are owned by Variant Power or its licensors. Except for the limited right to access and use the hosted service under these terms, no license is granted. Open-source components remain governed by their own licenses as listed in Third-party software notices.
10. Suspension, takedown, and termination
Variant Power may unpublish a project, revoke sharing, limit activity, suspend an account, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risk, legal obligations, infringement claims, service integrity, or a material breach of these terms. We may preserve relevant records while investigating a suspected violation. Where appropriate, email [email protected] to request review of an action.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OhmSpice is provided "as is" and "as available." Variant Power disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, uninterrupted availability, and error-free operation. We do not warrant that a simulation, model, import, script, storage operation, or shared project will produce a particular result.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Variant Power and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, use, or business opportunity arising from OhmSpice. Variant Power's aggregate liability arising from the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Variant Power for OhmSpice during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or US $100. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the beta and product evolve. We will change the effective date and provide reasonable notice of material changes through the service or website. Continued use after the updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. If a change requires new affirmative consent, we will request it.
14. Contact
Email [email protected] with legal questions, infringement notices, or requests concerning these terms.
